Michael follows a lover to New York City and finds himself awakened as a gatekeeper after experiencing a ceremony "Passing of the Spirit" where a spirit enters his body to receive light since they are lost in the underworld and need light to find their way back to their source.

After this event, Michael is haunted by voices, visions and otherworldly beings who are seeking light from him as well as looking for a consort for their dark dimensions.

His resistance to becoming an ancient being, an Uthra, does not stop the psychic attacks and his longing for a lover who will turn against him as he battles for his sanity and an ancient enemy.

A Whore of the Heaven is about death becoming life. Death is only a beginning.
